From Discovery to Decor, all you need to know about Ruby!

Ruby is considered to be the King of Precious Gemstones. In Latin, Ruby is called Ruber which means, the colour Red.  During the 600AD, European Gem hunters and experts Marco polo & Jean Tavernier traced Myanmar’s Gem Source.  They discovered vibrantly saturated stones ranging from Pigeon red to pinkish Red and believed that these Romantic looking Stones were the most powerful of all.  This legendary stone has made history since the time they have been discovered. Most often, they have always been worn as adornments and many believed that these stones are a fortune for Wealth, Wisdom Beauty & never-ending Love.

Maharaja Bhupinder Singh gifted this strikingly gorgeous necklace to his wife Maharani Sri Bakhtawar Kaur Sahiba. This necklace is made of Ruby beads, oval cabochon, and circular-cut rubies, old and single-cut diamonds, natural pearls, platinum (French marks), 13 ins., 1931, restored and restrung by Cartier Tradition in 2012, signed Cartier.

This entire Ruby Layer necklace was created by Cartier in 1931. It was an astounding choker necklace made in platinum using rubies, pearls, and diamonds. The upper part of the necklace had six layers of rubies with exclusive diamonds and pearls carefully and cautiously embedded on the sides. The middle part contains rubies mixed with pearls. The lowermost part of the necklace is the heaviest of all containing diamonds and rubies.
